Myself and freand Robbie booked to fish Bellflask fishery , this would be our first visit, we were greeted by The owner, Brian, he gave us the run down of the water, rules etc, first impressions we were taken back by how remote , and Beautiful the place was, Brian was very chatty , we spoke for some time although we were itching to get fishing . However I would of liked to have had more time to talk to Brian as I found him a very informative guy, I could tell he loves nature, when we got down to the waters edge , it was truly crystal clear, as we both had waders on looking into the water it was like looking into an aquarium, we had the lake to ourselves all day, as we explored more of the water as the day whent on it was clear to see that this place is not just run and looked after? It is loved and I would say the owner runs this place with a passion , wasn't easy, as regards catching, but we ended up catching hard fighting silver full tailed rainbows around 3lb , we ended up catching them on Shipman buzzers, and small sedges, as a nice ripple got up and weather warmed up, the day was challenging ,in a natural location, even if I'd of blanked , there wouldn't of been a nicer place to of done it? I enjoyed watching Reed buntings feeding there youngsters as they had just fledged , anyway, we enjoyed the day very mutch , and we will definately want to come back, you are limited to areas to fish as the water is very natural , and casting in certain areas is difficult we enjoyed the fact that we could move around the different swims, as we had water to ourselves, wouldn't want more than 4 anglers on the water though otherwise you would be limited to have to stay in one place ?? Thank you Brian , for a relaxing peaceful days fishing.
