We have 2 family members in the Martlets. One top floor, been there few years, one ground floor, been there 14 months. Both have very different needs and are cared for in a dignified and compassionate way. Sure the home has its ups and downs but talk to staff and help them by monitoring regularly your family member. I have and will continue to recommend the Martlets as I have seen the other care homes around and this one is modern, clean and approachable. Communication is key.

Depending on the staff on duty. Some times it is cleaner than others. For the most part the staff are friendly and helpful.

We moved Mum here 7 months ago from another Shaw care home as we as a family were starting a new life down here on the coast. Mum and I were very happy with the previous home, so it was a big decision for us all, but the minute we went there for an assessment we all loved The Martlets, we had a full tour of 3 wings on the ground floor and saw for ourselves how other residents reacted with the staff. Her new room is very quiet and spacious with direct access to the garden, the lounge was gorgeous, bright and cheerful also overlooking the garden. Outside residents can walk through to the other gardens that meander around the home. All the staff greet us all with a smile and cannot do enough for Mum, she loves the peace and tranquility of her new home and has enjoyed the activities and local trips out with Jules and Ellie and Anna. What more could we ask for? Thank you to each and every one of you for all your hard work and for keeping our loved ones safe.

Please, please don't send your family member here my relative is very very poorly after spending 5 weeks at this care home. Serious dehydration, sepsis and seriously infected pressure sore. Fighting for his life. My elderly relative deserves to be treated with respect, dignity, compassion and person centred care adequate for his needs.
