if i had looked what Phantom16 had wrote me and my dad would have stayed clear of this care home yes Dementia skills they do have, seems short of staff some days and other days when an important visit their is alot more staff involved, but with my mum how she is ,, always on the go and looks like me mum wants to have a wonder outside but due to (dols) we as in me and my dad are not allowed to Evan take me mum out on the grounds also because my mum how she is they give her a tablet in the morning aswell as at night because it seems they don't have enough staff , after so long we did get me mum around the grounds, so the tablets make a drowse and sleepy not pretty good for Quality of care and the dignity of my mum stay clear if ur loved ones have dementia or alzheimer's ( and always on the go ) seems to me to many residents for staff. have had to edit this review to had and remove a few things

Have visited this care home a few times, and I think first impressions are very important when having your father, mother, grandfather or even Grandma staying at a place such as this. This care home really leaves at lot to be desired, and a place I sure would never leave a relative in. It's set for dementia residents and yes ok you have to treat each resident with the care they deserve but seeing these poor people just wandering around is quite disturbing and unsettling you really need to see it to believe it. I'm no way saying the staff mistreat the residents as they do not, well not what I've seen but it's an eye opener. Dementia patients are really hard work but at the same time they are still human beings, these poor people have lost a lot of their own personal dignity and it's sad to see they don't recognize their own family. People with dementia relate to certain parts of their life's and seem to get locked in that world. Care homes should make the effort to help these people, dementia is an awful disease and for someone who doesn't understand dementia needs training if working in this environment. But sadly I would never put any of my family in this care home and the staff should be trained more to understand dementia. In my job I have been on courses and to get a better understanding it's a job carers should take seriously. I have been to this care quite a few times and each time I've been nothing seems to have changed. To understand a dementia person you need to get to know their background plus get to know as much information about dementia as this can help so much. But seeing these poor people just walking around the care home not knowing what time of day it is breaks anyone's heart, though the people who own this establishment need a kick up the butt, is it about the money or the residents you make your own decisions on that if you visit.
