They will pick on everything to avoid giving your money back!! My husband bought me a smart watch as Xmas gift, in the excitement I opened the seal, because its black I don't really like it so when tried to return it 2 days later the lady at the till said she can't have it back as the seal was broken and that the clerk must've made my husband aware of that when he bought it but NO ONE DID!!! Further action will be taken :)
Update: I went Samsung store to ask about that magic seal Argos uses as an excuse not to refund - they said the seal is valid when they (Samsung) deliver goods to them (Argos) and it has nothing to do with customer purchases and it should not be used as an excuse to decline refunds!!! With this in mind I went to another Argos and they were able to refund!!
