        Always users Mattishall branch and meat was invariably very very good. Since using Dereham is has been very disappointing - chewy steak, rubbery pork and bacon full of water. Not happy. One last go this weekend - if it hasnt improved Im off! Very sad as always excellent previously.

        I wanted some fillet steak to celebrate my wife getting a new job so chose a local butcher in preference to a supermarket. I wish I hadnt bothered. At the extortionate price of 60 per kilo I expected something special but I got tough tasteless steak that was very pink before cooking and obviously not matured. I might as well have gone to Tesco and bought their 21day matured (sometimes Irish) finest steak, which I have had on several occasions and at a lot less cost and have never been as disappointed as I was with this one from Tony Perkins. The 2 steaks cost nearly 30 and I have cooked a lot of steak over the years but seldom one as bad as this!
