Never, ever buy any laptop or PC from this shop, PRAS in Ealing. If there was a zero star to award it, I would give it. This is just to warn anyone thinking of buying such from PRAS. You will NOT get your money back if there is an issue, they will ask for cash payment rather than card payment - in my case makes it impossible to claim it from your card company, and the receipt issued didn't even have the letterhead of the business on it, so this makes it ambiguous. I unfortunately bought a good secondhand dell laptop for 299.00 from them in January this year 2020 (with a '2-year guarantee' attached to my receipt) only to find out last month (May 2020) that the Windows 10 version on it was due to expire, and needed to be activated. It kept popping up every time I would turn on the laptop to work. Prior to this the laptop had been working just fine. I sought the technical advice of a computer professional, and it turns out the version of Windows on it was Enterprise N - which is ONLY used by large corporations and institutions. That means the laptop was obtained from such, and it appeared, from a university. The Microsoft Outlook on it, which I hadn't needed to use till a week prior, actually had a student's account STILL ACTIVE on it! It appears the laptop had been illegally obtained from a university (I don't wish to put down the email address still showing on Outlook, which cannot be deleted, btw). I thus took it back to the shop on 22nd May to seek urgent redress. The salesman who had sold it to me wasn't at the counter, instead there were 2 other salesmen. I asked for the guy, and was told he no longer worked there. I then told them what was going on with the pc Id bought from them, and noting the 2 year warranty which was attached to the purchase - thus to claim repair or a repayment of the Windows software to have it activated. I was blatantly told the PRAS business no longer existed, and they were a new business now - so they don't owe me ANYTHING. At the same time, the PRAS sign brand was STILL above the shop. They then told me it was being sorted to be changed. I totally do not believe that. I believe they are the same business and this is a ploy to change face. So basically, I was screwed bcos their new business didnt get cash from me to buy the laptop, even with me showing the receipt and the warranty issued there 5 months ago! Legally, if anyone buys a business, they are liable to any assets and liabilities as far as I know. To cut a long story short, they refused to make any repayment (I asked for 119 to cover just the cost of replacing the wrong windows, they refused). Selling a laptop that strongly appears to have come from a university - which frankly could be a police case. So I have contacted Trading Standards and a small claims court. Oh, they have now changed the banner above their shop to : 'Broadway Mobiles - Vapes and E-Liquids" You have been informed.
