Was very unhappy with trying to book a taxi, told he I should go to Salisbury because it was more money for him. Very rude and hung up on me.

Driver tried to charge us 40 extra for his time waiting at the airport an hour when our return flight was delayed. He hadn't bothered checking live flight information despite the fact this company provides an airport transfer service and would know flights rarely land on time! He expected US to tell HIM the flight was delayed but we were never warned we had to do this or face charges and have never had to do this before! The owner was completely unsympathetic. We have since checked with other taxi firms who all confirmed it is the taxi firm's responsibility to check for flight delays and it is not down to passengers to inform them as it is not always possible for them to do so! The driver was angry and miserable and didn't talk to us the entire journey home and it was the longest, most stressful journey ever. First time with this company but never again! What should have been a relaxing VIP journey home turned out to be the worst taxi journey we've ever had and this taxi firm ruined our holiday. IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER'S REPLY BELOW I had provided flight details several times in my emails about the booking so to state I never provided any of them is false; the very fact your driver turned up at the airport when he did proves this. You did not ask for them again as you already had them! The driver text me the day before our return flight asking 'what time are you landing tomorrow' and I replied 'due to land at Gatwick 12:55pm Friday 7th'. I made sure to use the word 'DUE' as I do not have a crystal ball! At the airport our return flight time kept delaying and ended up being just over an hour later, not 'three'! If the driver told you I said 'all was OK' (when I had no way of knowing it would be the day before our flight and makes no sense to his question anyway) and that our delay was 'three hours' then he lied to you on both counts! I have kept the text messages. Your statement he 'waited 3 hours at the airport' is again FALSE as it was one hour's delay! If it had been 3 hours he'd have been charging us a lot more than 40! We had to text him asking where he was so had 'communicated'! The 'least' your firm 'could have done' is check live flight information before setting out, as per your own policy, as other taxi firms do and which is common sense, instead of charging your customers extra and blaming them! I had informed you well in advance that we needed an extra stop en route to check into a new flat and that I did not know how long this would take. In fact it was only half an hour and I had prepaid the driver 40 for this stop which is his hourly rate so, in fact, he earned double and was not 'unpaid' as you claim! Your response as business owner is full of lies and aggression and only confirms my justification for leaving a negative review! THEIR OWN WEBSITE UNDER FAQs STATES:- What would happen if my flight was delayed? ''Theres no need to worry about it! We keep track of your flights so that we know if youre being delayed or not meaning we know when we should be there waiting for you to arrive.''
