I wanted a change in company and decided to follow one of my friends and also a member of staff I did work with in a previous company , he made me feel like I would love working for helping hands and that they show loads more appreciation towards all staff and work in a different and better way then where I was , and he was totally right !!, I wasnt happy for a long time in my old job , one thing I do miss the people I looked after and had a good relationship with but best thing I did was move to helping hands , Ive always loved my job role and what I do, but now I get up and enjoy going to work more then I did in my last job , I only started in august and its the best move Ive ever done , I would recommend helping hands to anyone who wanted to become a carer for the company or anyone who would want to receive the care from helping hands , its a totally different level to what I was working for , I.e more in detail in everything , more organised and so much more professional , I am really happy in my job , the Durham branch team are great ,

I have worked for helping hands since December 2018 and thoroughly enjoy my job helping people also chatting with them and putting a smile on their faces Our durham office staff have been very supportive at the end of the phone really understanding and encouraging This was a total career change for me I was very nervous about starting this career but I can honestly say I wish I had done it years ago The whole team of carers are very supportive as well I look forward to seeing other carers on the double up calls I would recommend any one joining helping hands team

Prior to working for Helping Hands Durham, I worked in both a care home and for another domiciliary care company. I have worked here for almost a year and did quite a lot of research first. I did a review of staff comments about a range of companies and Helping Hands came out top for everything. I then applied for and got this job. I was not disappointed. Caitlin and the other staff have all made me feel really welcome. I have been supported and had opportunities to do further training and CPD is an important aspect with a variety of courses on offer. What I have found different from other organisations I have worked for, is that the management really do try to meet the staff needs and preferences. Your availability is discussed and rotas approved by staff before acceptance. The managers listen and are there for support when needed. The clients get excellent care as staff are happy in their roles and everyone has a joint ethos to do our best to make people whether staff or clients happy. Travelling expenses are fair, travelling times are realistic and guaranteed hours contracts provide security.
