A great start with a friendly welcome by staff (rare these days). The beer offering was superb as was the food. A shame I live in North Yorkshire as I would definitely be a regular visitor if I lived more locally. Oh, and the pub itself was delightful with a huge outdoor area and a cosy conservatory too. Very well with a visit if you are in the area.

Food & drinks: We were a family of four and we ordered two starters to nibble on. The padron peppers and olives were tasty but we had nothing to eat them with. The mains, however, were a huge let down! - The dressed crab was tasteless. - The courgette and feta salad was so basic and used poor quality ingredients (my homemade salads taste much better); It also had the odd rotten leaves in it. When the waitress brought it over she wasnt sure what it was and called it an aubergette salad ????! I can not believe how much they charged for that dish. - The burger was very bland and, the patty was very over cooked and dry. The worst thing about this dish was that there was a huge chunk of grey/blue cheese rind in the burger which I ate. I wasnt expecting to eat that and I nearly threw up my whole meal as it had a sickly old cheese taste to it. - The Parmesan fries were mediocre, I couldnt taste much truffle but there sure was a lot of mayo on them. I have definitely had better truffle fries. - The sea bass and potatoes was good. Wish we had all ordered that. To make matters worse, we ended up paying 98 for all of the above and we didnt even have a single alcoholic drink or dessert. Sadly we will not be returning for the food
