I honestly only have positive things to say about this cottage as it really is perfect in every way. We fell in love with Dunster well over a decade ago and finding The Oval has meant our family returning for countless visits. Lucy and her team are just amazing and make this cottage a real home from home. The kitchen is excellent making preparing meals a real joy. There's a lovely big dining table when you can sit for hours before moving into the living room to relax in front of a real fire. All three bedrooms are spacious with super comfy beds, you won't be able to decide which is your favourite. There's even a beautiful raised decked area at the back of the cottage where you relax with a glass of wine or hot chocolate depending on the weather. The cottage itself is in a great location as you have the beautiful village of Dunster to wonder around as well as countless walks all on the doorstep. There is absolutely no way you won't have a happy, relaxing holiday here.

The Oval is a wonderful self catering cottage, on historical West Street, and while not on the main street of Dunster, it benefits from a bit less hustle and bustle and yet still close to the local shops. Its very well looked after by Lucy and Co from Exmoor Cottages and a total delight, from the moment you open the door upon arrival. My family and I had a fabulous few days leading up to New Year. We would love to come again to experience the warmer weather, that said its very very comfortable with with things like a wood burning stove for cosy winters nights and some outdoor seating areas for those warm summer evenings (we will be back)! It is very clean and well maintained, my family and I would/will visit again (there are some other cottages in to choose from the same company that operate the Oval), so top notch accommodation which has been well thought-out, with excellent pre arrival communications, the delivered local farm brunch optional extra is also highly recommended too.

What a grand place to stay! The Oval is a treasure, a beautiful property that is thoughtfully well-equipped. Lucy and team make every effort to prep the place and it shows, well done. Dunster is a gem of a place to stay, with lots to do and see. A good range of cafes, bars and restaurants. The Secret Garden Terrace at The Luttrell Arms was our favourite for a pre-dinner stroll and drink, fabulous views in marvellous surroundings. Our dog Hugo was walked to a standstill, especially after the reasonably strenuous but worthwhile walk to Bats Castle. The Deli in Dunster catered with some pleasing treats, but we especially recommend Stuart Lowen in Minehead for food shopping, a good butcher on-site with lots of other basics and frills to enjoy too. We look forward to our next visit!
