Sweet Meadows & Wild Woods Camping.

Would avoid camping here at times of heavy rain-ground prone to heavy flooding. Otherwise, lovely owner, great distance to a number of footpaths and observation points; some niche places to explore on site for kids too. "Intimate" not to be taken lightly: great if you dont mind camping nearby other people and frequently conversing with other campers and the owner- whome spears no detail discussing the local areas qualities. Located at the first right after the 2 large wooden gates around the google maps pin. Restrooms: Toilet available joined with the owners house, slight adjustment needed at first but cleaned regularly and very close to pitchup and water points.

We stayed for a night to celebrate the birthdays of two of our (adult) children. It was a lovely area, plenty of space and a wonderfully warm reception. Couldnt fault this for a lovely rural stay and will be sure to visit again. Xx

NOT SUITABLE FOR MOST CAMPERVANS. Booked to stay here in our citroen relay camper, mentioned we had a motorhome when we booked and were told this was fine. If your van is taller than 2.2m you will NOT fit in this site. The owner did refund our fee but after driving 2hrs to get there and then finding we had nowhere to stay, it left us parked in a layby for the night. The owner seems nice enough but really didn't seem to understand he should be telling people the site is unsuitable for most campervans. Site looked basic but in need of lots of repairs and maintenance. I'm sorry to say, the owner is advanced in years and I think probably struggling to properly maintain the site.

Beautiful place! Camping as it should be with added hot shower at the end of the day! If you are after a luxury like expensive caravaning sites, then this may not be for you, but if you love watching a hawk in the sky when drinking your morning coffee or having your dinner around a campfire, then this is probably the best place in Devon. We had a very warm welcome from Roger and Wendy, and we kinda felt like we were visiting long forgotten relatives, and not strangers who shared their piece of heaven. Dartmoor Forrest will keep you very busy as long as you are outdoor enthusiast. Walking, biking and wild swimming are just around the corner. If you prefer a pint, there is at least four pubs around 30 mins walk. We will be back!!!

I stayed here for one night with my dog and boyfriend. The hosts were very nice, and we helped them feeding the horses, it was a nice activity. I think this place will be perfect for kids with a treehouse and a garden where you have your own tiny campsite and small paths through the hedges. It is also beautiful to have a walk in the nearby forest. I would recommend staying in the garden or on the field. There is access to a toilet and shower, but it was very old and not very clean. The water supply was clean but had a weird color because we stayed under a drought. The man apologized and gave us some clean water, that was very nice of him. In total I would recommend everyone to experience this magical garden, but think of it as an experience where the facilities are basic.
