Maddie gave us a lovely welcome with tea and cake in the guests' sitting room of this amazing house. Our room was spacious and deliciously warm, which was great, especially as we had struggled through floods while Storm Dennis was wreaking havoc! We had stupidly failed to bring our wellies, but Maddie lent us some so we could explore part of the farm and witness the Dulas stream rushing along. Breakfast was very tasty in the lovely dining room and included gooseberry jam, marmalade and toast - all Maddie's handiwork - and local honey. A very comfortable port in a storm and it must be glorious in good weather. We were just too early for this year's lambs, which were due just after we left! For anyone who has never visited this area it is one we keep returning to, as it never fails to delight.
