The Lakes Care Centre

No care, no empathy, dishonest staff/management, lies after lies regarding cleanliness, hygiene,what she'd eaten and drank, Left in her room on her own to her own devices for god knows how long, sat in her own mess. (when she wasnt incontinent) My mother rapidly declined being in there, as for care and hygiene here's just one instance of many... my mother's tongue was black so we had to take her Manchester dental hospital, (which as you can imagine was very frightening for my mother as she had to have a biopsie taken off her tongue as it was that bad, all's because of the staff never cleaned my poor mums dentures or mouth in the year her being there) the dentist said it was the worst case of poor denture hygiene he'd ever seen. We had to hold my mother down whiles they sliced a piece of her tongue off, it was horrific and traumatising. Another instance... my mother lost over five stone being in the lakes care centre in less than 12 months, and they led myself and family to believe there was something really sinister going on with my mother's health.. since leaving there and having tests at the hospital, there was nothing physically wrong with her... they just didn't help her at meal times! And when a worker whispered down your ear 'get your mum out of here' you know there's something not right! So would I recommend this home... DEFINITELY NOT!!!!! the girls are not nice like you think, some of them speak to residents like dirt!!!

My mum was in here for 20 years and we moved her due to the negligence she received what a disgrace mum lost lots of weight due to the food being absolutely disgusting and she was left to feed herself which she was unable to do her medication was in a drink and left for her to do which she was unable to do so she wasn't getting it all her possession went missing which she had had for 20 years of being there even her clothes went missing many incidents accured which was brushed under the carpet which was reported we had many meetings and nothing got better so we moved her to a brilliant home best thing we ever did I wouldn't give these any stars and wouldn't put anyone in here it's absolutely disgusting the way my mum has been treated and thought other people should know before they put their loved ones in here

Had an interview booked they cancelled hours before, then ignored my messages trying to reschedule... Stay away from these unprofessionals

Food rating from 5 to 1, appalling. Alot of residents dont have family to keep check on the staff here. I am not impressed with the catering or the care here.

Linda Bates. A big thank you to staff for looking after my mum, they also cared for my father in his last weeks, it's a lovely place so welcoming and bright.
