I have nothing but praise for the staff at Belvadere Care Home. My mom had dementia and only had a short stay. If we could of stayed there we would of but their beds are precious and taken, as I imagine everyone wants to get their parents/relatives in there. In Our short time I can highly thank the staff for there ability to make the patients feel wanted and at home. They are a highly dedicated team and can highly recommend this home

Don't bother even thinking of putting your loved ones into this establishment, unclean, untrained staff who shout at residents, do not attend to their needs my grandad has ended up in hospital with multiple broken ribs and a ruptured splean from apparently falling out of bed! When a doctor is requested they don't bother getting one stating that a doctor visits every 2 weeks. Be warned!

My Dad has been in there several months now and has Dementia. I visit two to three times a week so I spend a fair bit of time in there. The Staff are very good at what they do and I can see my Dad is very well looked after. They are always friendly and look after me when I visit. The new Manager there Harbinder is very approachable and any problems or issues you may have are dealt with swiftly and professionally. The Home has recently been re decorated and brought up to date. It's always clean and tidy and my Dads room is very nice for him. I feel happy and relaxed knowing my Dad is being well looked after as that is a big concern when looking for care for a loved one. The food is good there and a good variety too. I would highly recommend Belvidere. Thank you to all the Staff and Management there Carl from Brierley Hill

Avoid at all costs. Appalling dated dirty home. Staff not got a clue about how to care for the residents. Rooms dirty and dated so drab. My mom spent two years sadly in this pit. She was sadly left , no care shown whatsoever. On visiting her teeth hadnt been cleaned they were all dirty. Clothes stained. Staff just clueless when approached and asked why. All the management want is the cash to line their pockets. Staff uniforms were grubby, masks under their chins. On one occasion I visited my mom on her 90th Birthday. She was in a small wheelchair with no foot rest supporting her feet, they were dragging on the floor whilst a member of staff wheeled my mom into the dining room, amongst other residents and left her there whilst we sat in a cramped area to visit her. It was discusting we had residents coming up to us which was upsetting and no privacy at all. My mom looked so uncomfy. I then noticed she had not got her glasses on. When questioned Alison said that my mom had twisted her glasses and broke them. They had been sent off for repair. Now coming from a so called senior this was. My mom had dementia, she couldnt even hold a cup or feed herself so would not have the ability to do this to her glasses. Sadly my mom past the following week. It took Harbinder (manager) almost a week to send her condolences. Which is nothing unusual as every time you call the home she is ALWAYS IN A MEETING. Never ever does management call you back even though you told they will. Ten days after moms passing the home forwarded a pair of glasses to me. On opening the package they were not my moms glasses, so a call to the home to be told they had no glasses for my mom. My question is how long did my poor mom go without glasses? Why lie? Why were we sent another ladies glasses? Again home not got a clue, poor communication skills. I am awaiting the cost of my moms glasses to be refunded to me. Finally, we are owed 689.87p from the home. We filled all relevant bank details in and forwarded to Kamal to send to the finance team. This was January 3rd Im still waiting, and I had an extremely rude, and discusting email from Kamla saying I need to be patient. It doesnt take this long to transfer my mothers money over. So please do not put your loved one in this pit. Patients are left in chairs doubled over asleep while staff ignore them. Hygiene and care is bottom of Belvederes list, all that management see is . To end this review I am in process of taking the home to task, Im not letting them get away with the abismal treatment of my mom, or other residents. So again AVOID this place I cant call it a home because its not. Staff obviously arent trained in Alzheimers/dementia care as my family observed when we visited how staff were with the poor residents.

My mom as Alzheimer's and is a full time client at the home. I myself have worked as a Senior Care Officer for Dudley Metropolitan Council for 33 years plus and moved around the care homes as they were closing one by one. My last place of work was New Bradley Hall where I retired in 2017. So you can understand that I had high expectations of a care home for my mom. Belvedere home feels homely as you step in the door staff are devoted to their jobs and give well beyond what is expected. I have not walked into this home once and see any client on their own they are always there providing help and assistance person centred care dignity and respect it's home from home. My mom became physically and verbally violent to my Dad who was very frail sadly my Dad passed away. Mom remains at the care home where she is settled and cared for I cannot praise the staff enough for their care and skills and knowledge that they give to everyone not just my mom. The last ten months have been the most challenging at the home with this covid 19 about but they are again outstanding. This care home is not modern or looks like a palace but the care Is 200% plus.a place that you can call a home Sallyane Milligan
