Top of my list for a return visit! As we arrived, some other guests were leaving, they said 'you're in for a treat'. And we were. I loved the flamboyant ambiance of the hotel, stunningly decorated. Each room is so individual. I stayed in the Kingsland suite, a beautiful light room with so much space. It was hard to leave it in the morning. My friend had 1610, with a gorgeous four poster bed. The staff were wonderful, attentive and friendly, nothing was too much for them. We had a brief tour, learnt about the history of the house and peeked at some unoccupied bedrooms, all were lovely. We ate dinner here both nights and were really impressed with the food, absolutely delicious. Never thought I'd love a rum baba! Breakfast was also tasty, and very generous. Great base to explore the coastline, we visited Bempton Cliffs (puffins!) and Sewerby Hall. Really hope to come back again sometime.
