I would give 0 stars if possible. I went there to collect some food for a charity I am volunteering with. The collection was at 20.30. I arrived there at 20.30 but the food was not ready and I was told "it will be ready soon". In the meantime, I decided to buy a pack of 24 cans of coke. I went to the scanner and there was an issue. I then moved to the next scanner, paid and went to put the pack in my car.
When I was outside, I heard someone behind me (security guard) saying I didn't pay and that I should go back and pay. I went back explaining I had paid but he kept insisting saying "no I saw you at this scan, you didn't pay and now you have to pay for the stuff you have taken". Unfortunately, I didn't print the receipt so I asked him to check the scanner I used to pay for. He didn't listen and kept saying I should pay. There were people in the store and everyone stared at him accusing me of being a thief. The other staff in the Tesco didn't even come to check what the issue was.
In the end, I had to show him the latest transaction of my credit card and he stopped saying that I had to pay. He didn't even apologize for the mistake and I think this is really poor. I went there to collect some food for the charity and I was accused of being a thief without even receiving an apology for the mistake.
Tesco you should really train your staff to give a better customer service. I understand they are doing their job but really an apology after all this was a MUST.
