My experience at this fine establishment in Downham Market was nothing short of spectacular, excuse the pun. A lovely lady booked me in a last minute appointment when I hadn't been to their store for over 10 years and would you believe it they still had my details card! The service provided to me was absolutely impeccable by all staff on my visit and the communication after. These magnificent people went absolutely above and beyond to make sure I received the best care, and even managed to get me my main pair of glasses ready for the same afternoon as they knew my previous glasses were broken and I was walking around in sunglasses. I for one, will not go anywhere else from now on. Highly recommended and truly appreciated, thank you again everyone at Spectacular Downham Market.

Considering the current environment (with the dreaded 'lurgy') these guys went above and beyond to get me new prescription glasses and sunglasses. I was seen quickly, nice efficient eye test, good choice of stock (although I'm an Oakley fan so went for them again!), advised and fitted in short order and got the glasses a few days later. Spot on! Can't praise Mark (tech) enough for his help but found all the staff helpful, friendly and efficient. I've used Spectacular for years (since I started wearing glasses in my teens in fact) and I've never had a single reason to grumble. I'd recommend them to anyone, an absolute gem of an independent firm.

I too had been going for some years. I have circular lenses fitted in 18kt Savile Row frames. I've had 4 of these frames for some years. At some point one pair was stolen. I took another frame to Spectacular and they fitted new lenses to the same prescription as the stolen ones. All seemed well. Then one half of the frame burst open at the nose side. I had some problem gluing the frame back without the right glasses to see by. When I got to my office I used some close-up glasses and a scalpel to remove the glue and move the lenses to another frame that I still had. It was then I discovered the lenses are too big. I had to over-tighten on the outside edge but the gap still did not close. In the process I scratched the lens. So I called Spectacular to request one replacement lens that I was quite prepared to pay for. A lady called Holly told me she would not supply a replacement lens unless I had an eye test, that it was the law. I explained I didn't want an eye test, was not looking for new glasses, just to repair my existing ones. But she refused. Another optician elsewhere was quite happy to measure what I had and make a replica. Seems that fitting over-size lenses have bust my expensive gold frames and my attempt at repair damaged the lens. UPDATE: this was elevated to their head office; that's why it took so long. I had an email from Dave Nash. They accepted the error and offered to put it all right. They very carefully brazed my broken frame and fitted two new lenses free of charge. At 370 quid a frame I really didn't want to have to buy another one. As I was having new lenses I had a new eye test. The frame is beautifully repaired and I can see again. And I still have 2 intact frames. All is forgiven and I would recommend this optician simply because they took my complaint seriously and dealt with it.
