The Dove River Practice

Amazingly helpful in Reception. Very kind and welcoming. New to the area so it was lovely to be treated with genuine care. Very different to the Receptionist at Dove Practice in Tutbury who was unfriendly and awfully rude tossing forms at me with no explanation. Please don't confuse the two. Well done Sudbury for your empathy and kindness.

As soon as I rang the doctors surgery (8AM) I was somehow 9th in the queue which makes no sense for a start. Secondly the receptionist (Carla) has told me at 8.16AM that there is no available appointments left at my local surgery so I must go to Tutbury. That is not even the worst part. Her attitude was absolutely disgusting. She spoke to me as if she was looking down her nose at me. She has no consideration for a patients feelings or what they are talking to her about. I asked for a mid day appointment so she suggest 10.40AM, when I said that is not mid day, her response was "they have to have lunch too". I found this amusing because the next appointment time she offered was 3pm. After considering that is an awful long lunch break and told her that, she began to get smart and very pretentious towards me. I would recommend this receptionist either take a course on customer service skills or better yet, find a new job and stop making patients miserable with her words. Especially ones trying to find help for mental health.
