My mother in law is in Ivy bank , other homes could not cope with mum due to mixed her dementia and her behaviour . Since going to Ivy bank mum has settled the team are all brilliant with her . They all meet mums needs to a high standard . All the staff have regular training in dementia , the staff go above and beyond and always have time for a smile and a chat . We are always updated each week to how mum is . The team are one big family who care really care and that quality is priceless . We can not thank the team enough for everything they do for our amazing mum Thank you thank you

Would give 0 stars if it was an option. Was wholeheartedly dissatisfied with my fathers care here. Injuries that no-one knew how had happened. Social worker didnt even recognise him after 3 weeks, and thankfully got him moved ASAP.

My Mum has 3 forms of dementia Vascular, Alzheimers & Lewy Body dementia. Mum lived with me for some years. I was beginning to struggle emotionally as well as mentally. I had no quality time with my family Mum was very demandingnot her fault Caring for Mum I was being woken up at all hours and was having to deal with Mum not taking her medication as well as hallucinating to the extent it was distressing not just for me but my small grandchildren. I placed Mum reluctantly into respite as my husband had booked for us to have a holiday together. Whist I was away I began to enjoy not clock watching not being shouted at because in her less lucid moments she was a different person. I realised I wasnt actually able to meet Mums needs anymore especially after shed left the house completely naked early one morning, believes herself to be pregnant, one minute Im a prison officer next shes running a brothal. The list could and does go on! I called Ivybank and sobbed my heart out to a wonderful lady called Mandy. She calmed me down and also reassured me that she would make a couple of calls to see what she could do. Long story short social services contacted me as did Mandy and Mum stayed in the rest home. Mum is so well cared for. She eats well takes her medication joins in activities, something shed never do at home. She has her hair done and is monitored at night times with a pressure pad by her bed which alerts the nurses who attend to her immediately. I can and will honestly say that Ivybank have given me back my independence and sanity as well as reassuring me that Mum has the best of the best. The warm welcome you receive is next to none and the smell of the dinners is just mouthwatering. The best bit isIm Mums daughter again not a prison warden or cook or servant.. as I was often referred to as staff massive thanks to all the staff especially Mandy Julie & Eve. xxx
