I have had many dentists over the years that have caused the usual panic and anxiety, Went today for a deep clean and an extraction. WOW besides a little pinch for the anathestic (6) times no pain at all. I cannot thank the staff from the 3 ladies at the front desk who always seem to have a smile, to my dentist Mr Dossa and his dental nurse for their patience and understanding of a scared and nervous old man. Thank you all

I registered and went to my first appointment last month, have to say from the time I arrived the experience was not what you would expect from Reception staff, the Dentist was very nice, however they started to rule out all the work I would have to have done racking up 800+ for the work needed, I am accepting that the work needs to be done, however I felt pressured in to giving an answer for the having the work done, in which case you have to pay a deposit which that amount is something I cannot afford, I was then hurried for my answer for which I replied I would have one part done, and they had to remove the rest of it and planned to discuss in 6 months as it can probably wait until then. I am a nervous patient, but the not so professional front of house and then my experience in with the Dentist set my anxiety levels off and even now I am still very anxious, I have now contacted another Dentist to restart a new registration but whom have very good reviews on service. I have replied to the text message to cancel my appointment next month. After reading reviews on the dentistry work as well, I am not feeling in my gut that I want to risk going ahead with the planned work next month, after reviews on reception proved to be spot on, I have to take in to consideration the dentistry work would be the same. I have made the choice not to go ahead. I personally would not recommend this dentist, out of my whole life I have never experienced such an experience at a Dentist and had faith that maybe it was down to personal experience, which it probably is, but when someone expresses that they cannot financially afford all the work in one go you don't expect to be treated that way and hurried out the door because you haven't made the full plan. It is unprofessional and rude and does not help a nervous patient. Update: after attending my new dentist and and reputable one with 5 star reviews who has been practicing for many many years to be advised that no work is needed on my teeth and how they have been well looked after, the same response I have always had from dentists prior to attending Pencester Bupa dentist, this reaffirms that obviously work has been created without a need yet I was well prepared for my new dentist to say the same thing and was prepared to pay them the money. The service from start to finish at my new dentist was friendly, reassuring and surprisingly very gentle that as a nervous patient I was put at ease, I was even shown tooth by tooth the condition and the fillings showing no sign of work needed, there was no fracture in any tooth which I was advised of at pencester Road Dentist. Now I can hand on heart say I would never recommend this Bupa dentist to anyone. For the first time in my adult life of attending dentist's I think I was being scammed.
