Having booked this location, we have recently found that the venue does not have planning permission to hold wedding receptions, and never has, yet the owner (Mr Vaudry) has taken both a deposit and second payment from us over six months ago.
Now that the SDC has issued an enforcement notice to stop these activities and it is clear the event cannot go ahead; Mr Vaudry, initially having agreed to refund the money paid, now refuses to pay back over 2,200 so that another venue can be secured.
The wedding date is only 10 weeks away and this action could ruin what should be the best day of their lives.
Mr Vaudry has suggested we should involve lawyers to try to recover the money from him!
I write this review purely in the hope of avoiding others having to go through anything similar.
