Stephan Miles has been bodging jobs since the year 2000, he fitted my parents kitchen and bathrooms which has had ongoing problems resulting in them having to have the problems sorted by professionals. I urge you before your use him check his insurance, get previous customer feedback directly from the customer not his word! He will say he is gas and electric registered but he will get false documents and people to sign his work off. He has no qualifications at all in this industry and will fob you off with excuses after excuse. DO NOT USE HIM PLEASE NOTE The address attached to this account is not correct it has been fraudulently attached by Mr Miles. The correct Address is 31 Beresford Road it is not connected to Tweed Lane at all!

Absolutely shocking build quality. We had two separate jobs undertaken by Stephan Miles of Leyburn construction over a small period of time. A roof replaced as part of our lease where the ten flat paid towards the cost. It was a reasonable price but is now leaking more than my original roof was and is damaging the inside of my property. The second job was our living room plastered which cracked within two months. Only last night I started inspecting the crack on the wall and it crumbled in my hand. See the images and videos for the build quality of both so you can see what we are dealing with. You will see the roof leaking is damaging my property internally. The issue here is not the build quality alone but more the poor service provided when sending weekly messages to Stephan go try and get both these jobs that should have been completed to a high standard rectified. I appreciate he may be busy but we have been completely fobbed off. Reading through the messages to Stephan I have 12 separate occasions he promised to be coming and set a day or time to fix these issues. I have now ended up deciding to fix the plastering on the internal wall myself as I do not feel it will be done to an acceptable standard. The roof I will not be fixing or paying someone else to fix and he has to come back to fix that or I will be left with no choice than to commence legal proceedings against him and his company. It may seem extreme reading this but when you have constantly messaged him and his company about coming to fix the issues and been fed excuses for over two months there comes a point when his customers will not take it anymore. The most recent message was last night where just before 6pm he said he was packing up at a job and would be about an hour or so doing that but could be over to fix the plastering about 9ish. I said thats fine as we just need to get it done. See you at 9pm. No response to my message at all even a chasing one at 10pm asking when he was going to be over when it was apparent he wasnt coming and then just turns up unannounced this morning. I dont trust his plastering work and will be doing this myself. I honestly feel I will be able to do a better job. I have already had another builder inform me that the roof has not been completed to an acceptable standard with the peak tiles only held down with a small amount of concrete. You should not be able to see underneath these as these should be solidly filled. All of these need taking off. The old concrete removed and then the correct amount of concrete completely filling the peak tiles so that there arent any gaps underneath so that they wont get pulled done or slip in the bad weather. There is a section under the roof where when the build was being undertaken one of his workers put a foot through the felt. He said this would be fixed but this is where the biggest leak is and most water ingress into my kitchen. Coincidence? I dont think so. Then if you see the other images of the roof there are tiles that have lifted and other areas where concrete has only been part filled or tiles missing and a section of lead flashing curved around instead. Watch the videos, look at the images and you will see why I have now had enough of Stephen Miles and his company. The ball is now in his court to fix my leaking roof before it causes so much damage internally that I will be claiming back the full cost of the roof and for the damages his work has caused to the internal walls of my property. Maybe you wont have the same experience as me and maybe you will get your work done to an acceptable standard but is it worth taking that risk? UPDATE NOV 2020 We have had builders on site to rectify the poor workmanship of Leyburn Construction. They said that the wrong cement mixture (like hard sand) was used which is why the edging cement is crumbling away. The current roofers also said they wrong tiles were used. We were informed they would be Redland 49's but they aren't. The tiles do not have the correct overlap and the lead valleys were laid incorrectly causing leaking.
