Lovely old historic Inn serving a good range of food and drinks. Situated near the Longshaw estate and the Burbage valley both are good for walking. Recently refurbished inside and bar area, lovely outdoor seating area. Father's day menu available.

This isn't a review for the pub, it's a review for the accommodation. Having booked six weeks in advance, directly with the venue, my friend had commented on the reservation that she would be bringing her small, well behaved dog (the same dog that had been with her for pub meals at The Fox House over 10 times in the previous year). The proprietor called ONE day before her stay and told her she couldn't bring her dog, and it was non-refundable. They offered "as a gesture of good will" for her to reschedule but obviously she still has the dog irrespective of when they travel! So they had to book somewhere else at the 11th hour, and lost all of their money. I think it's very poor that the hotel didn't review the booking sooner, or make it clearer that it's not dog-friendly on the website (it's point 15 in their Ts & Cs...). Sorry for smearing the excellent pub with a one star review but the accommodation really, really let her down.
