Found everything to be delightful during 2 extended stays, visiting from California to do family history research nearby. Was treated so graciously by the hosts, most generous with their attention and accommodating of my needs. Breakfasts are great, and the rooms are lovingly maintained--you truly feel like royalty. Accessble by train or bus if you're not up to driving. A perfect country escape!!

If you are not a fan of mass produced places like travel Inn. Premier Inn etc and want to stay somewhere different I absolutely recommend this lovely character Georgian property. It may not be every ones cup of tea as to some it may seem old fashioned but personally I loved it we had a huge room with en suite with the typical Georgian room proportions that modern mass produced hotels lack. There is a beautiful garden with a huge variety of bird life unfortunately it rained the whole of our stay so we didn't get to enjoy it. Maybe next time the weather will oblige. Its very tranquil yet only a 5 minute walk to the village shops. The hosts are lovely people making your stay feel even more pleasant. Despite being a village setting the WiFi supplied was really decent speed as the telephone exange is probably only a few hundred yards away. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Ps. Although I don't eat breakfast I was assured by my partner the provided breakfast was great... Thanks Eileen and Edward for a lovely stay with you hopefully it won't be the last one.
