Job done finally but poor communication and 12 days after completing the job they didn't remove yet (after loads of calls and email sent to the G.E.S head office) the scaffolding from my property. Embarrassing...

I was contacted by G.E.S. for a Solar Panel installation via the MCS website after requesting quotes from local companies. I was extremely impressed by the knowledge of the salesperson who came round for a quote. Communication broke down on the installation day in mid June when I was assured everything would be done and dusted on a single day (minus a battery install due to supply issues). Unfortunately the panels could not be fitted until the day after (I was told this at 5:45pm) even though they had been delivered. So I had almost 2k of panels sat in my front garden which of course I had to move. For this I've to deducted one star. Battery supply issues then seemed to go on for a while where a solid date for delivery of them could not be determined. In the end (mid September by this point, I was told it was going to be November before G.E.S. got the batteries) I went online, took me 5 minutes to find a company selling the exact battery I needed (probably for a bit of a markup) and I was just told by G.E.S. to buy it myself and they would fit it and balance the cost with the initial quote (what I paid for the battery plus the fee for getting it fitted would be the same as what I was quoted originally). Fair enough I suppose, although now the warranty is on my own back but at least I got a battery which is the really the main money saver for a solar install (wouldn't recommend doing it without personally). Finally my battery install date came up and it was fitted but unfortunately didn't appear to be working correctly. It then took a further 2 weeks of chasing to finally just get a date someone could come and have another look at it. Sorry G.E.S. but this and the above issue made me to deduct a further star. Finally had a visit from the electrician who was amazing and got the battery working properly. With all the installation issues we had, I have to say it's a cracking system and is saving us a huge amount on our bills! I'd say that G.E.S. needs to improve communication with customers overall and fill them in with what is happening on key dates (I very rarely got a callback when I was promised one).
