We recently took our Skoda Superb to Doncaster Hayseldens to have some work done under warranty on a faulty door lock system, having bought the car from DM Keith in York two weeks earlier. Whilst we were in Doncaster town centre waiting for the work to be done we received a phone call from Hayseldens saying that they had performed a 'health check' on the car and this showed that the brake discs were 70% corroded and needed replacing at a cost of 399. We declined having the work done. The work done on the door locks was fine. We then contacted DM Keith expressing our concern about our recently purchased car with brake problems, they were, to say the least, perturbed and we said we would get a second opinion. I had the brakes checked by our regular, AA approved mechanic who said, in his opinion, the brakes were fine for another 12 months. I then rang DM Keith again to apologise for suggesting there may have been a problem with the car sale for which they expressed their thanks for the phone call. This 'appears' to be the classic 'lets get maximum return out of lay owners' scenario for which I am extremely annoyed with Doncaster Hayseldens.
