I waited at the pharmacy counter in Sainsburys alongside four other people on Tuesday morning. There was an assistant in the dispensary area who seemed to be working on a computer. When she eventually emerged and came to the counter she explained that there was no pharmacist on duty as he had been delayed. Therefore she was unable to give advice, dispense medications, deal with prescriptions etc. Of course I understand this. However I told her I just wanted to purchase two boxes of Complan which I had in my hand as I had located them on display. She refused to allow me to purchase them, reiterating that there was no pharmacist on duty. Now since when was it a requirement that a pharmacist needs to sanction the purchase of Complan? I can buy it in other supermarkets. I thought it was a misinformed and unhelpful comment caused me some inconvenience. I needed it for a sick relative. I then went to pharmacies on Thorne Road and Beckett Road both of which were closed. So I ended up with no Complan yesterday. I would like to know was the assistant misinformed or not? Does Complan actually have to be signed off by a pharmacist? I look forward to your comments.

Been today to collect my medication approx 4pm to be told no pharmacist until 6.30 , how can you advertise that you are open when clearly no pharmacist means you cant dispense, sell or advice on anything. This is becomeing a regular occurance so will be moving some where else, absolutely rubbish service and only gave 1 star because I had too
