I didn't want to put 1 star as this company bullies staff especially in this current climate. If someone has to go off poorly they don't pay them. They want reporting STAY CLEAR.

It appears my experience is one of many at this company (Lifeways/Living Ambitions) HORRENDOUS! Interview day - this was a mass interview process, upto 10 people were invited to attend an interview. Was told it was 4 hour, including a walk round. This did not happen. As soon as we filled in the paperwork we were sent home. Training and PBS is very basic and standard stuff- my experience at The Grange the PBS training is not used correctly. Staff will shout abuse back, push and grab places your taught not to. Your first day on rota they say you will read care plans- We read half a care plan before we got told to clean the building. (Cleaning around residents that you have no idea what they might do or information on that person at all) hope you like cleaning, because at the Grange as a new Starter you get pulled off from shadow shifts to go clean. The housekeeper apparently doesnt clean, shes the dogsbody that fixes residents clothes when she has time and does the shopping for the residents or goes out and gets what ever the staff want to eat. She also counts the money for the residents (which is always short) and you dont really see her much after that, shes always coming back and forth in the car. You are expected to sign care plans and read them every month! If you dont you get a job chat. You are told you need a break pass to go for a break. Seniors have these around their neck on their keys so this does not happen. You go as and when you are free (which you will rarely get your break entitlement as you will be too busy cleaning or helping cook)when your on a break you might find a team leader rudely invading your personal space regardless if your on a phone call or not speaking to you like trash and asking how long you have had and who you asked to go on that break. If you have concerns or complaints... the Grange doesn't have a manager. Hasn't for a while. The Grange expected someone to start in April 2019, but didnt show. (My thoughts is she knew she couldn't change this place) 1 deputy is leaving to another company (says alot doesnt it) and that leaves 2 other deputies. If you complain news quickly spreads that your abit of a complainer and think you know too much. (This is because everyone their are best friends and you can clearly see this as no one acts in a professional mannor) if you like being around chavs and a Jeremy Kyle type environment then this IS the place for you. I kid you not! If you dont click with the staff and how they swear and flaunt themselves around each other, and have no cares about their service users they are supporting then you will not fit in and they will make it known you are not welcome. I heard conversations around personal drug use, alot of alcohol talk, and sexual inappropriate talk as well as harassment to try add you on fb and even though you have a partner. if they like you they will try offer you a night out to get to know someone and stay over. Really inappropriate and insulting (these people are no Tom Hardy or Jennifer Aniston) I have seen video evidence of a staff member currently in employment here and best friends with the deputy dancing like a hoe in front of their service user and she pulled down her trackie bottoms showing off her thong. Absolutely disgusting. The most important thing about this job and what we do is the support... let me tell you there is no support here. Staff do everything for the residents. All cleaning. Food making. Putting clothes on... filling a bath, washing them and Laundry. The service users DONT have active lives. Most will walk around the home all day... incidents happen alot through the day due to the noise and incidents from other service users. The rooms are like prisons. Minimal furniture which is locked and bolted to walls... beds without any sort of quilt sheets on them. Very rare the service users do anything fun. staff say they will have behaviours. The staff speak bad about the residents whilst they are in front of them. It's really bad. Many more things to add but if you decide to work here then it's at your own risk.
