"I must remind you that we our contract is between your architect and Glazing Vison". Very poor experience with both Glazing Vision, who sell you the product, and Glazing Renovation, who fit it [as has been noted elsewhere, this is not at all clear to the customer]. Glazing Vision were recommended to us by our architect for a sky light wall in-fill between our two dormers, as part of our recent loft extension. Not only was it meant to have a 'Grand Designs' style 'wow' feature - it was an integral part of our planning application with the local authority. We duly paid the deposit on 1 July. Glazing Vision received all the dimensions etc from our architect. We were told manufacturer lead in time was 6 weeks, and a site measure would be done on-site before manufacture. I had to follow up with Glazing Vision on 1 September politely asking 'where is it?' to be told we were scheduled for installation 3 October. This was 13 weeks on from our order confirmation. We were told the site survey had been conducted on 5 August - 5 weeks after our deposit was paid - and that manufacture lead in time had now slipped from 6 to 8 weeks. Chris Cowdrey, our project manager, than erroneously - presumably through a careless typo - said our installation would be brought forward. When he corrected his mistake, and we expressed our disappointment, he double-downed on his rudeness by stating that the contract was 'between the architect and Glazing Vision'. The inference being, even as the customer, we were not (legally?) to ask such questions. Due to Glazing Vision's lateness with delivery, our renovation work was completed. A representative from Glazing Renovation arrived a week before to inquire where it was, and I told them they were late and would have to agree alternative solutions (we had paid 9,000 for 3 months of scaffolding which they could have gladly used..). Glazing Renovation, who are the installation company, duly turned up on 3 October. Clearly, no conversations or solutions had been discussed or agreed. They do not even take the product from the pavement to the roof, by the way. 'Delivery' quite literally means to the roadside. They refused to install it, and when I said 'you are very late' I was brusquely told, standing in my own bedroom, that: 'We are busy'. Luckily, our builder was on-site finishing snagging jobs and agreed to move the sky lights to the loft and then install them himself. My wife is 7 months pregnant, and I could neither lift them both myself nor (obviously) ever hope to install them. We have been left incredibly disappointed. The sky lights they delivered were not to the dimensions supplied. Our builder had to heighten and narrow the pocket to make them fit. Upon final inquiry through our architect, the company also refused to refund the 1000 'installation fee'. Service: Skylight installation

We recently used Glazing Vision to supply and install a multi-part flushglaze skylight in Aug 2022. The sales process was great - Kelly was extremely helpful, informative and patient and we felt confident in what we were purchasing. However, we experienced several problems we'd like to make others aware of. One thing to note upfront is the excellent people who helped sort our issues quickly & effectively. Kelly (Sales), Jimmy (Head of Operations for Glazing Vision) and Chris (our first site surveyor) who were friendly, collaborative and supportive throughout. We are grateful for your help in resolving our issues so a big thank you to you all. First, Glazing Vision sell the sky light but their sister company Glazing Renovations are the ones who do the site measure and installation. Glazing Renovations have health & safety requirements which Glazing Vision didn't make clear to us from the outset, requiring us to spend more money to abide by. This included installing edge protection within 2metres of the sky light installation area, and hiring a tower platform to match the opening of the sky light to act as fall protection (and help get the sky light up into position). I wasn't annoyed by the HSE requirements, but by the surprise costs that only came up when we had the site survey performed and conveniently, after the deposit had been paid. Second, we had issues with the fall on our upstand which needed fixing, but changing the fall had a knock on impact to the span of the rooflight. If we were engineers perhaps it would have been obvious, but we wished we were properly informed of this at our site survey because the rooflight was basically shorter than what it should have been on the wall abutment side. Third, there were a few other issues noted in the final site survey which the surveyor didn't communicate when he was physically on-site. Rather, we found out 2 days later when our project manager emailed with a list of things to be remediated before installation. We wished the surveyor told us at the time, as our builder was on-site and could have addressed them straight away. It made us question why we bothered paying 500 for a pre-install site survey in the first place.. Fourth, the communication from our project manager felt poor and unclear on email and getting a hold of him on phone was difficult. This was vastly different to the sales process which was fun, fast and easy to understand. Finally, we paid 1k for installation, but you need your own builders to bring the skylight into the house and up onto the roof for the installation team. This feels poor value, but then you are stuck between a rock and a hard place because if you don't pay for installation, your warranty period is reduced from 10 to 2 years. Overall, I would only recommend customers use this company because it (1) Offers a specialist product that no competitor can, which you need for a particular performance requirement or creative vision you have or (2) Is the most competitive pricing you can find in the market. In terms of recommendations, we suggest that: 1. Glazing Renovations provide their own equipment to comply with HSE requirements and build this into the cost of the service (we note that Glazing Renovations do have their own tower platforms and when they turned up and saw our extension, felt it was more effort to put up the edge protection than it was worth, so didn't even bother...LOL) 2. Include a lifting service into the price of installation (or at least offer it for an uplift) 3. Both companies tighten up comms & operational requirements between them so that customers are properly informed of what they need to do / pay for from the outset 4. Rationalise the Salesperson and Project Manager roles so you deal with the same person from start to finish. For us, the Project Manager role was otherwise someone who moved information between Glazing Vision and Glazing Renovations but who did nothing to actually help our situation. Final note - our sky light is beautiful now that the drama is over. Service: Skylight installation
