Thurnham Keep Country House B&B

A wonderful place to stay. The house and rooms are just beautiful. Amanda the hostess is very welcoming and friendly. The rooms are spacious with large beds, chairs and a sofa, beautifully decorated with antiques, and great views over the countryside. The bathrooms have the old fittings and are very lovely. The breakfast selection is good and Amanda cooks to your request from the menu. Our favourites were the pancakes and bacon, and the smoked salmon scrambled egg. The gardens are very large, plenty of space to go for a walk round. There is a good sized outdoor pool. The road connections here are good, so you can get to Canterbury, Margate, Sissinghurst etc. within about 1hr. For shopping, visit the Ashford Designer Outlet.

What a first class operation. Lovely house, quiet spot, incredibly comfortable rooms, terrific breakfast. We went with daughter and spouse and shared house with an agreeable older couple, so no hustle and bustle. Would recommend without hesitation. 5 minutes from Leeds Castle. Decent food nearby. Amanda, who probably walks 100 miles/week, undersold the difficulty of the hikes, but we got over that.
