This summer, Darren completed a single story extension for us in Downham Market. This was a large, vaulted extension with big bi-folds onto a new patio and re-landscaped garden, including knocking through the existing exterior wall. We couldn't be happier with the service we received and the quality of the workmanship. From the outset, from quote to completion, Darren and Laurie (his right-hand man) were punctual, reliable, polite and thoughtful. Each morning they arrived when they said they would, completed a big chunk of work, left the place tidy and our build progressed very rapidly. We had a large amount of groundwork, including fixing problems with drainage, working around existing pipes and utilities (some unexpected). The whole job was done in about 3 months, probably a month quicker than our best estimate. Whenever there was a decision to be made, Darren helped think it through with us, providing great practical advice. The quality of the workmanship was top-notch and the finish immaculate. The end result was better than we'd imagined we'd achieve. Darren did most of the work himself, or bringing in roofers, scaffolders, plasterers etc. He also recommended glaziers, plumbers and electricians that we contracted separately but Darren knew them and helped sequence everything in a smart way to get everything done and I didn't have to do project management for him. I'd recommend using his favoured contacts as they too were all really good, relaiable, trustworthy and v skilled. The whole build was to the budget he'd said and where we asked for extra stuff done not in the quote (eg patio) the cost was agreed in a very straightforward way and stuck to it. This was impressive as the availability and cost of materials was rising rapidly due to COVID and consumer demand. We're planning a second phase of our project next year, converting the old dining to a bathroom and my first choice will definitely be to have Darren do it. We've already booked him in! Overall, I'd recommend Darren without any hesitation for big or small building projects. He's trustworthy, reliable, quick and easy to work with and the end product will be top quality. An easy 5 stars!

Darren Sutherland has created a beautiful patio and wall surround,for planting in my garden,on different levels and in difficult conditions. His work has been exemplary. He is a very good communicator , did what he said he would do when he said he would do it . He works hard quickly and to a high standard . I would thoroughly recommend him for building work.
