I bought a used car from Nigel back in 2019 and have returned for annual servicing and MOT. This is a car dealership and after sales that you can trust.

talk about a terrible service. If we go from the start of our dealings with Carwise and Nigel, we saw a mini we were happy with and had a part ex available too. We were told to provide some service history on the car and we'd be looking at a higher valuation, upon providing service history which was fairly good, they told us to bring the car in. When bringing our car in they tried their upmost to devalue it by claiming they searched the whole car for a locking wheel nut and couldn't find it, bringing it down by 200. When I went out WITH the employee, he immediately found it in the glove box, huge coincidence, considering he'd thoroughly searched the car. They also didn't live up to any end of their deal on the service documents and refused to increase valuations on our car. However these are minor issues compared to the service we received moving forward. Upon purchasing the car, they told us that we have to pay for the roadtax in full for the year because they'd "previously sold the car and had the tax done already". After purchasing the mini and road tax, we saw within the first few weeks that it was steering to 1 side and making a noise and had a lag in power. They demand that you bring it back to them, rather than getting their "warranty" to cover costs of the repair locally, which seemed a hassle but we were told this before, so we took it to them. They did nothing to actually fix the issues, they simply recharged the battery in the car and claimed that was the fault. Costing us time, fuel and effort to come to derby to do that. The problems weren't solved and we told them that we wanted to take it for a diagnostic and fix locally, they were very rude on the phone that we'd even suggest that the warranty should cover it as they weren't able to fix the issue, and offered 20 contribution. JOKE. Weeks went by and they weren't replying to texts, weren't getting back to our calls and we decided to bite the bullet and get it sorted ourselves. Upon doing so KwikFit and Mini told us that the spark plugs weren't replaced In the last 30K MILES / 2 SERVICES (the last service was done BY CARWISE). Baring in mind we took the car back to Carwise for this issue and they couldn't find that themselves, (not so carwise I suppose). This is where things become the worst. The spark plugs didn't end up becoming the issue, mini told us that there was a number of repairs needed on the car, including the oxygen censors and much more. This ended up becoming a huge cost for us to cover. In the midst of all of this, our car wasn't taxed. The roadtax we purchased FROM CARWISE FOR THE YEAR, wasn't on the car and we were notified by post that our car WASN'T taxed, TWICE. We told Carwise as we paid them in full for the year and they said "don't worry it is taxed"... it wasn't. We received another letter a few days later, telling us it 100% wasn't taxed and they then made an issue about having to tax it themselves for the full year as it was 60 more than we gave them. We know this because the lady on the phone asked us to hold, didn't mute her phone and she was complaining to her colleague and asked if they should "just do it for 6 months". All in all our experience was beyond terrible, I would have much rather have purchased a car privately than go back to the patronising, disgusting service we received from Nigel and colleagues. This company in my experience pride themselves on cutting each corner available to them, and pinching every penny at the cost of their customer.
