I joined Mercia College as a Business Admin Apprentice in Early 2020. Throughout my apprenticeship I gained knowledge and skills that were relevant to my job role and sector. My skills coach supported me extremely well throughout my apprenticeship which led to me achieving my EPA with a distinction and almost 100% !!I have since progressed onto the Team Leader/ Supervisor Apprenticeship and working towards progressing further in my career.

Since joining Mercia College as a Recruitment/Business Development Consultant back in 2019, I wanted to be able to complete an apprenticeship within my role. Over the past year and a half I have worked really hard alongside my skills coach at Mercia to achieve the best grade I could. I can't believe I came out with a DISTINCTION! I am now Mercia College's Office Manager and looking to complete a management apprenticeship going forward.

I havent been with Mercia College for long but i can already tell i have a lot of support and i am really going to enjoy my apprenticeship experience. I completed an apprenticeship previously with a different company and i cant believe how much more thorough and organised Mercia College are. My skills coach Kevin Webb is lovely and im very happy with him.

I am a Deputy Manager of a care company and have used Mercia College for 7 years now since I have worked here. Mercia do all my staffs NVQ's, I have never had a problem with them

Mercia college let me down time and time again throughout my apprenticeship. My first tutor failed to show up to our third meeting, only for me to be notified two weeks later that this tutor was leaving and I was left without any guidance for the foreseeable future. It wasnt until one month later I was finally assigned another tutor, mind you, this tutor was only temporary and I was later assigned a third. It was extremely difficult to progress consistently when each tutor was unaware of how far I was along in my learning. When it was time to complete one of my module exams, neither my tutor or I knew the process and what platform to use, resulting in me missing my exam. My tutor tried to contact Mercia college when this exam was scheduled and they failed to answer. 10 months into my apprenticeship I was made redundant. I was assured Mercia would assign one of their recruitment employees to assist me in finding a new position, yet they failed to contact me. I called their recruitment team directly only to be told that the individual who was to help me find a new job was off for the week. This is fine of course, but its the fact Mercia had no sense of urgency and didnt think to even notify me! I emailed the MD voicing all this frustration, only for them to claim I do not believe that since your redundancy we have let you down. But yet it seems it was okay that Mercia let me down throughout my apprenticeship? One month and a half since being made redundant, I have already found myself a new position. Meanwhile, I never heard anything from Mercia about placements they found. Overall, Mercia is an abysmal excuse of a training provider. Dont waste your time.
