The Shed

What a lovely place. Totally dog friendly, which is rare around Derby. Tasty and beautifully presented food and good, strong coffee. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. The young girl that served us was helpful, friendly a polite too

Sadly, as of April 2022, the Shed is becoming a private venue only , feel sorry for the staff who lost their jobs in what was a great addition to Darley Abbey....

We decided to have a meal here after hearing great reviews about the place. On arrival there was a long queue for drinks. We had a table reserved but, it took around 45 minutes for anyone to come and serve us.. 30 minutes later we finally got our drinks. We had seen the queue go down so the drinks should not have taken that long . It seemed that priority was given to the queue and that the table orders were left. My glass of white wine was luke warm - obviously the bottle hadnt been in a chiller very long. The food was nothing special.. cheese board was fine apart from the fact that we had no knives or serviettes to start with. Dry burger with a very small amount of fries. We had to ask for cutlery again and serviettes and when it did arrive, there wasnt enough to go round. Timings there were so long. We would quite happily have got up and left early on. The place was also cold and drafty and if anyone was smoking just outside the door the waft of smoke would come our way! The Shed really needs to look at staff & table management otherwise you will be losing customers. I for one will not be going back!
