Very professional,friendly and reliable company. One of my pet hates is you ask people for quotes and they don't get back to you when they say they will or start the work when they say they will. Ken came to give us the quote which we accepted said when he could start and always kept us informed of what was happening. In fact he started a couple of days earlier. He gave us ideas for the drive too and as he went along he always asked how we would prefer certain things doing, not just going ahead regardless. Ken was recommended to us which is one reason we choose them as we have learnt the hard way. My advice to anyone reading this review is to take my recommendation and save yourself time searching elsewhere you won't get a better job done !! Very satisfied customers reliable. Our driveway was shot, falling into disrepair and frankly becoming dangerous to walk on, with old repairs crumbling and becoming trip hazards, and with poorly filled old trenches criss crossing it, it desperately needed ripping up and replacing. Enter A & M Driveways. Ken came around to have a look at what we needed, listened to what we would and would not want, took all of that on board and advised us accordingly. In addition to removing our old surfacing, we also wanted a completely new pathway around our garage where none had existed before. Now here is the crux. Ken measured up, did a few calculations, and gave us a written quote for all of the work there and then. However, he was really busy, and it would be some time before he could get around to starting our job. But, he assured us the quote was firm. I told him that I was impressed, but I wouldnt be saying yes or no without getting some other quotes, which I did. As it turned out, Ken was pretty much the cheapest, which rang a few alarm bells, (it neednt have done), so I took the opportunity to have a look at a couple of driveways he had previously completed for others. Reassured by what I saw, I drew the conclusion that his long waiting list must be for a reason, and his work seemed to be of a good standard, so we gave him the contract. In all honesty, I dont believe I couldve made a better decision. In the end, it was about seven months before he could start. (I told you he was busy). But, I tell you, the wait was well worth it. The final finished job is alI that Id hoped for. They turned up at the time they said they would on day one, and then worked diligently, and with no inconsiderable amount of graft until the job was finished five days later. At every stage they worked tirelessly, with good humour, and excellent attention to detail, providing us with a top class driveway (and new pathway), built to the highest of standards. No scrimping on quality with these guys.The site was left tidy at the end of each day, and all rubble cleared away. I dont know whether they wouldve considered my job an awkward one or not, but it was a largish area with odd drops and unevenness needing addressing, but they took it all in their stride, installing new drainage where necessary. All in all, an absolutely first rate job, carried out by a firm that obviously takes pride in their work, and it shows. Integrity would seem to be their watchword. My advice, look no further. And if you have to wait for them, then do so. One more thing. Our original quote was given on 15th December 2021. The work commenced on 4th July 2022. Bear in mind the ridiculous rises in the cost of living, fuel etc, during this period. Nonetheless, the price we were quoted in December was the price we paid in July. As I said. Integrity.
