I am writing this on behalf of Sandra davidge . Madeline blaney visited me in my home on quite a few occasions regarding my will , she is on time , very pleasant , knows exactly what she is doing and she has been a great help . I would recommend the lady named above and Simpsons solicitors if you wish to make a will .

So far so good! Communication with Simpson Solicitors has been excellent. My wife and I had an in home meeting with Adil recently regarding wills and powers of attorney and were immediately put at ease by his knowledge and pressure-free manner.

Two and a half years ago we lost our mum. The firm that was supposed to be dealing with probate went out of business. In steps Simpsons Solicitors/Rightprobate of Derby. Two and a half years later and they are now refusing (yes, refusing!) to pay out the funds from my late mums estate. But lets rewind a little.... Emails, phone calls, even going down to the office in person got us nowhere. No communication, no phone calls, nothing until, after 6 months, I threatened them with the ombudsman. They admitted (and I have the email that confirms this) that they had done nothing, zero, zip, with the file for the last 6 months. Another solicitor takes the reigns, promising to 'progress the estate as quickly as possible'... This was October 2020. Since then, we have had excuse after excuse for the lack of progress i.e. blaming Covid. We have had documents sent to the wrong address... presumably that was the Covid virus in the system too. We don't hear anything for weeks on end, emails go unanswered and their complaints department may as well not exist. Fast forward two and a half years to now and the estate is still not settled. Simpsons Solicitors have been in receipt of my mums money for well over a year now. They have been 'finalising' the estate for a record number of months and now that everything is in place to pay out, they won't distribute the funds. We have had several promises that we are 'now a priority' and that 'accounts are processing the payment today', yet still, for some reason, they refuse, are unwilling, or, more concerningly, unable to process the payments. This has been going on for the last 2 months. I have contacted the ombudsman, referred the matter to the law society and reported them to the SRA. But no, still they refuse to distribute the funds. If you think it is just me complaining, then take a look at this article posted by journalist Tony Hetherington from Money.co.uk. The article was published in January 2022 and tells the story of a 90 year old gentleman who engaged Simpsons Solicitors to deal with a will. They took 1283 from this gentlemans account in April and by the January they still hadn't sent him the will to sign.

Ive had the worst experience for the past 3+ years with this business. My familys case has been handed off to 4 different persons, no documents that Ive requested has been provided, every time I call everyone seems to either always be in a meeting or unavailable and when they NEVER call back, I rarely get updates on my case because no one responds to my emails, I cant seem to get a meeting booked in to have a face to face session, no matter how many complaints Ive made nothing changes. Ive recently AGAIN tried emailing the complaints department and theyve also been ignoring my emails. If anyone has any experience as to how they escalated their case please note that in a comment above. At this point my next step is approaching the legal Ombudsman to trigger a formal investigation on their processes and lack of professionalism. I feel as though were being scammed with this business.
