Lovely heritage railway - and convenient to get to by train too. We took the train from Sheffield to Duffield (changing at Derby). We were on one of their steam running days, which was fab! Beautiful idyllic route through some gorgeous Derbyshire countryside. At the end of the day, we got a bus from Wirksworth to Matlock Bath and got the train back home from there.

I always enjoy a steam train ride and this one did not disappoint. Carriage was nice and warm. Staff friendly. Scenery good and what impressed me most was the amount of youngsters volunteering and working hard to make it pleasurable for everyone. Furthermore, we went on 11/11/22 and at 11am all the staff, and there were quite a lot longer up on the platform to show their respect to the fallen and observe 2 minutes silence. Respect.
