I originally contacted Richard at 3rdimension to help me with a project to replace my e-bike OEM battery bash cover. The aim was for me to be able to print at home a new cover made from a stronger material to withstand the damage that is caused by mountain biking. From the start Richard was professional and helpful, and took my original ideas and improved upon them, allowing me to add customisation to the cover and providing the opportunity to print in different styles. Richard quickly produced my first prototype and I was very impressed with the mock design. It is a testament to his skills that he was able to originally design the cover without ever having the actual bike to test on, and to produce something which stood up to the design brief takes impressive skills. The cover fits my bike perfectly and has meant that I can now print a cover which prevents costly damage to an expensive bike. Due to his professionalism I felt comfortable to leave my e-bike in his possession to allow him to further test his designs, and make adjustments to my original design. I had no previous experience in this area, and was originally just wanting to see whether printing the cover was even a viable option. Richard has worked with me and show a lot of patience in designing a guard from scratch, and answering any questions that I had. I am very happy with the final product, and this is evidenced by the fact that we now are designing a 3-piece kit for the guard. I would have no hesitation in recommending Richard, and would say if you have something you want to recreate or something unique then definitely speak to Richard!

If you're looking to turn an idea into a reality Richard at 3RDimension CAD can definitely help! I called Richard a couple months back due to his website stating that he is a CAD designer with a wealth of experience wanting to charge people a sensible rate so that ordinary people could turn their ideas into a reality. (Not word by word.) And he has done just that for me! Yes there have been some frustrations along the way with ideas being verbally discussed over the phone and certain small details being lost in translation, but Richard has always made the extra effort to give me some of his time in person so that we can iron out the creases, so for that I am thankful! He has been very patient with me, apparently I'm not always the clearest when explaining what I want (according to the Mrs) but he has done so well with materialising my vision for my product that we are designing. There is still some things to figure out now that my product is ready for its first real prototype trial run, but I'm confident Richard will be there to help me finalise the designs! If you do need a CAD designer, I would definitely recommend 3RDimension CAD!
