Oakwood Medical Centre

WHY ARE WE ALL BEING SENT TO NORMANTON WHEN OUR LOCAL DOCTORS IS OAKWOOD. Told to call 111 everytime who tell you to go to A and E and we wonder why A and E is destroyed. Its because of THIS SURGERY. Absolutely shocking, can NEVER get an appointment even though 111 have told me they have appointments available. What is going on! If anyone can tell me who owns this doctors please let me know as Im going to try everything I can to get answers on why this surgery operates on a no appointment, waste the hospitals time policy

Rang up with a serious infection and needed antibiotics as Id had the infection before. Was held on the phone for 40 minutes. By the time I go through they told me no appointments were available. They told me to ring 111. Rang 111 who then told me they were going to get me an appointment with my doctor because they had Oakwood Medical Centres calendar up in front of them and the surgery had free appointments all afternoon. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING. THIS PLACE NEEDS INVESTIGATING OR SHUTTING DOWN. The doctor and the kind person on 111 said its shocking and they do not know how they get away with it.

This Doctors is SHOCKING! Oakwood Surgery is supposed to be my local doctors and everytime I ring up for an appointment I get sent all the way across town to Peartree. How is this even legal. If the Oakwood surgery isnt seeing any patients then it should close down. Cant park anywhere around Peartree, car parks a joke. I know the NHS is in a bad way but this is truly terrifying how they treat patients. Im contacting my MP and the NHS complaints depart as this cant go on.

I thought these places had a duty of care? Honestly if I didn't live 5 minutes up the road and regularly drive past the building, I'd be thinking the place doesn't exist and might just be a myth. Impossible to even speak to anybody let alone get an appointment. You fill out an e-consult, get a generic response and are told to call the surgery to book an appointment. Phone lines are turned off at least 50% of the day with a message saying they're busy - 'busy' doing what, I don't know. (if you work a regular 9-5 job, it's nigh on impossible to reach them via phone). In the absolute miracle scenario that I'm offered an appointment, it's at Pear Tree in Normanton. A near 20 minute drive, at a facility with very limited parking. I feel even more so for those that don't drive as its 2 buses away. This place needs shutting down, you'd get better care in some third world countries. The earth am I paying national insurance for?
