Grade II listed stone built 18th century 3 arch bridge. Built as a replacement for an earlier 7 arch medieval bridge that crossed the Derwent at the same place, albeit at a different angle, the first arch of the earlier bridge can be seen under the bridge chapel. It was at one time the only bridge across the Derwent in Derby, hence the bridge chapel. Historically important, and quite impressive, unfortunately it's underappreciated by the public and council.
