Jamie Rowland turned up at Poulton-le-Fylde Photographic Club, as a last minute 'guest speaker replacement' on Thursday, 1st December, 2016. Telling the story of his life as an ex-soldier from the Cheshire Regiment, and the start of his love of photography. The music and videos during his time in the army are very frank and hard hitting. Enjoyed the song 'Soldier' by Harvey Andrews, which I have played many times over many years, one of my big favourites. The first half of the evening was the army videos, music and his early photography, and then in the second half it was about his photography after the army and how he has developed from a beginner to a professional in just over five years. In those years he has learnt about photography thoroughly and it shows in the excellent quality of his photographs. The rock biker/photographer from Manchester in all his biking gear was a great speaker, who presented his work in a very professional manner, and for the club it was a wonderful evening, enjoyed by all.
