Stayed here for 3 weeks in September 2020. Lovely cottage with all the amenities you need for a short stay. Clean and well presented. Location excellent. However ... After a few days into our stay we discovered that the toilet seat was very loose, the fire would not start without a lighter and most important problem was that the double bed has no middle support and so we ended up rolling together. This made the bed virtually unusable as we could not sleep ! Basically the bed is a very cheap and weak product totally unsuitable for purpose. We reported these issues to the owner within our first week who stated she couldn't do anything. We stayed another 2 weeks as we couldn't sort out another cottage at such short notice and the owner never once contacted us to help, visit to see the issues, or offer any kind of resolution. Not a good service for an alleged 4 star property especially when we were paying 700 a week. The bed completely ruined our stay and needs immediate repair or preferably replacing at these prices. Sorry I cannot recommend Clark's cottage Mitchelgate, Kirkby Lonsdale due to the complete lack of service we encountered. I hope these issues are resolved before anyone else stays otherwise you'll end up in the bunk beds in the back room.
