Antony James Driving School

I started doing lessons with Antony after my previous driving instructor fell ill and decided to stop working. I did a number of lessons with him. I had a lesson booked with him for 5:30pm he was under the impression it was booked for 5pm, a very simple mistake on his behalf ! He arrived at my house at 5 and I was inside. I received a message that he was outside, when I went outside he was very aggressive as he claims he was waiting for 10 minutes despite failing to ring my door bell ! He came up with the excuse he knocked on the door which is false as 3 adults were in the front room. After texting me to come outside he refused to take me on the lesson even after I suggested I could do a shorter time to fit in with his time table. Additionally, he said he would not take me on my test which is the end of this month, on his behalf I believe this is very unprofessional and a careless attitude considering its a very minor and simple mis understanding. I found him very impatient and very peculiar at times. He only offered lessons after dark and I wished to only do one hour one week as my test would be in daylight and driving at night is a quieter and a different experience therefore I did not want to waste money when my test will be in daylight. This appeared to aggravate him. I see that many responses from you Antony claim the bad reviews are not customers you have in your books, so if you come back and say Im not in your books you are a liar as well as everything else. Finally I find Antonys decision to not take me on my test which is 2 weeks from now very vindictive.

I'm really happy and its been a pleasure to have Tony as my instructor. He is very experienced and have lot of patience to correct my mistakes, to guide, support and encourage me to Pass the test. I highly recommend him for anyone to learn and pass the test in Uxbridge area. Thanks Tony, thank you for all your help :)

I hadn't driven for over 10 years, so I thought it would be responsible to have a refresher lesson as I'm going to be driving again next month. I had a refresher lesson with Tony last week - he was absolutely lovely, the lesson was very relaxed, and was structured in the most perfect way. Before driving, we went over all the basics, which was great and helped me to settle in. We started off in a very quiet neighbourhood, and did a few circuits there, before heading out onto the main roads once I was happy with everything. Luckily for me, the "muscle-memory" kicked in straight-away and I found driving the car as straight-forward as it always was - I imagine it's the same for most people! But what was most helpful was having Tony take a look at the wider aspects of my driving - i.e. use of mirrors, spacial awareness, movement between lanes etc. This is what I was most concerned about after not having driven for so long. Also, it was good to be able to chat to Tony about current driving trends, and new features in cars which have come in since I last drove in 2008. So anyway, if you haven't driven for a while, I strongly recommend a refresher lesson with Tony! And if you're a beginner, I'm sure he's the perfect instructor for you!

I started learning 10 years ago for about 6 months and then stopped as lived in London and it was not a priority. I now needed my licence and its fair to say I started as a nervous driver. But after a few hours with Tony and his sense of humour, you are quickly disarmed and driving with confidence. He is brimming with knowledge and a step-by-step process of all of the detailed areas you need to know. Now after 4 months on the road, I can still hear Tony's voice, with that knowledge in my head. Thank you for getting me on the road.
