Had a wonderful time at Willow Hill Farm, great views & a great vibe. Only stayed the one night but thoroughly enjoyable & we all wished we could stay longer. We were celebrating a 60th birthday & our party of 32 were well looked after by the very welcoming, helpful & friendly staff , a special mention must go to Sam who was always so helpful & willing to answer any questions & seemed to be everywhere ! We will be back .

Venue is lovely and peaceful and the food is great (except continental breakfast at 12 per head) however we were upgraded to lodges and the yurts due to the weather and high winds. These are certainly not luxury and in fact leak and the lodges are very poorly constructed. There is no actual path to them either so its very muddy! We were notified the day before there was no chef to do lunchs (our party had 8 children 5yrs to to 2yrs old) we took our own food and alcoholic beverages and were told on the first night we couldnt drink our own drink and instead had to pay 6 a pint at the bar which is a rip off. There was nowhere for anyone to shower (although luckily for us a family was in the wash house) so all 18 of us had to wait our turn to shower in there. The pool was freezing and unusable, and there is very very little for younger children to do there. We all ended up having to do lunch with our own food which was not ideal. There was a power cut on the first night as the power supply apparently couldnt handle a hair dryer so had to wait for the National grid to sort it later that night. Although we were upgraded and the owner kept mentioning that we felt mislead by the website and very stressed out. After the group complained to Ruth, she took some actions and ended up offering us the original booking at a later date at the same price and was not offered anything by way of an apology, not even a drink. The comms was poor and empathy even more so and found it very expensive for what it was. There was a tv in the chill out room which didnt work so the kids couldnt watch a film, all the games were missing bits which just added to everything else. The last night we were there the other owner walked in to the chill out room where we all were and got a bottle of wine out the back and walked back through without saying a word to anyone which tells a thousand words. The setting here is lovely but there is ALOT for the owners to learn and sadly its all the basic stuff.

Just got back from a lovely two nights stay here, and it was just what we needed! Tranquil, peaceful, great pubs, friendly hosts and a wonderful dog! We originally booked the bell tent but upon arrival was upgraded to a lodge with hot tub free of charge. As this was for my husbands 40th this was a lovely unexpected treat. Matthew the owner was lovely and very hospitable to us and our two girls and made us feel very welcome and of course not to mention craig the farm dog The site was lovely, amazing views, clean amenities, great pool and hot tubs. I know the site is under some changes at the moment and there was no chef onsite but this didnt have an impact on our stay, we brought some of our own food and drink and ate out at some of the lovely pubs/cafes. The lodge we had was very cosy and room for all of us and the dog. All very clean and comfortable beds and warm bedding. It was a little chilly so between the electric fire and the fire pits it was great. Tewksbury was a lovely town to visit and the Abbey. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back again. Thanks again willow hill

KITCHEN COMPLETELY UNSANITARY. The space LOOKS fantastic on the outside and Matthew and Ruth appear to be perfect hosts, but the truth is far from this. While I worked inside the Willow Hill Farm kitchen Matthew ordered myself and the other chef to serve meat that didnt meet the minimum sanitary requirements. Although we asked him to purchase new meat, he insisted we use what was left over from the summer before. It had been frozen, then thawed, then refrozen. It was not well wrappedstored in ripped plastic bagsand he himself left It to sit in the open air then insisted we cook and serve it to paying customers. We didnt have proper equipment for safety or sanitation. The pizzas he served and charged a premium for were made of pizza dough that had been frozen for months and months and was unworkable. When it was busy Matthew himself would enter the kitchen to make food for his clients (because we were understaffed due to his lack of organization) without even washing his hands after hed been smoking and drinking. This was just inside the kitchen. I was told by other employees that sanitation practices were terrible throughout the farm: the pool green with algae because he hadnt added chlorine, toilets backing up into the bar dish sink, waste from the other toilets allowed to leak into the ground, and a rat-infested caravan in the barn area attached to the kitchen. Why does he have so many great reviews? Because he pays people to remove their negative reviews (but fires employees without warning and refuses to pay them for the time they worked). I imagine he pays others to leave positive reviews also. Stay and eat here at your own risk.
