Dunkerley's Seafood Restaurant Hotel

Truly awful. Ordered the steak and cheese baguette. When it came I could smell the rank oil the fries were fried in, just inedible. The baguette was a hot dog bun sized piece of oven ready bread you buy in the freezer section. The steak was a thin strip of shoe leather smaller than the hot dog bun. And then, some stale cheese grated on top, not even melted in. Just awful.

This hotel was great and its right on the seafront! The staff were great and ensured we had a pleasant stay. The breakfast tasted amazing and it was included in the room price. This was one of the cheapest hotels I found in the area, so I was very happy with what I got for my money - hence the 5 stars. The rooms have an old feel to them, but I actually liked that

Review Updated to 4! Just spent 2 nights here at the hotel All rooms seemed clean, comfortable, most spacious but a little dated. I will say the showers in the bathrooms need a revamp, we did have a issue but it was dealt with straight away by the staff. This hotel though is very reasonably priced which includes a ok breakfast. Was very impressed with the staff in the bar which also serves foods till 9:30pm which is excellent considering most of Deals restaurant are closed at start of the week or takeaways by 8pm! We only had 1 evening meal here in the bar but it was delicious. Bar area is comfortable and cozy. Revisited twice since first reviewed and food was average. Best stick to the fish dishes when dining here..... Good well located restaurant and hotel. Not stayed here but used the restaurant for the first time Christmas eve, as you can imagine it was very busy but service was friendly, prompt and attentive. We ordered mussels and scallops to start, mussels were good but scallops were a little bit under cooked for my partner's liking so was returned. Staff quickly apologise offered a replacement and took them off the bill. For the main we had Dover sole and hake both were cook perfectly and delicious served with seasonal vegetables. Good selection of wines and lagers. Would definitely recommend and revisit.

Hotel and rooms need updating. Stayed in a king size bed room. The bathroom ceiling needed addressing & the shower needed adjusting as water everywhere. The room needs updating attention to detail. The room was extremely hot so didnt get a good nights sleep, also very noisy downstairs. However after all said breakfast was 100% staff couldnt do enough for you, we had a full English it was lovely staff kept asking if we needed more toast coffee etc. all staff we met where happy with smiles and helpful. 90 was what we paid for one night including breakfast. Would I stay again No .. would I stop for breakfast yes.
