If i could give 0% I would. We visited on Mon Bank Holiday and where seated about 1.30min before closing. The asian waitress had no welcome or smile, she could not speak English properly and seemed as if she was being forced to work there,it was very difficult to understand her especially over the loud music they were playing. We ordered some starters and 4 main meals. Mine was the jerk chicken and rice. The rice and chicken was dry and when I asked for sweet and sour sauce I was advised that their is already sauce on it and waiter walked away. I eat 50% of my meal and left it. Whilst we were eating the waitress came to me and said do I mind paying for all the meal and they close in half hour to which I just replied I'm still eating and she walked away. When it came to paying an asian man came with the pay machine and showed me the bill. It have 12.5% service charge which is extortionate, especially as the service was so terrible. When I asked for the service charge to be taken off he snatched the pay machine out of my hand with no remorse. I paid 105 for 4 people. The standard of the food was so poor that they should be closed down.

I don't often leave negative reviews but this one has to appear. As an avid restaurant reviewer, Tru Street was one of the worst restaurants I have eaten in. The only positive was the strawberry mocktail. We ordered 3 dishes for 18. The chicken jambalaya was incredibly sour in taste and was unpleasant to eat. The noodles were plain and tasted like a simple chow mein and definitely did not include kimchi and other ingredients listed for that dish. The fried chicken and curly fries were okay but simple at best. The food was not exciting and certainly not advertised as seen on social media. There was also an incredibly long wait time for the food considering it is meant to be 'street food'. The food is incredibly overpriced - definitely not worth what you pay for. The waitress who served us simply slammed the food down and did not say anything and just walked away. No customer service skills, not even a smile. No one asked us at all if the food was okay. No one checked on us. The orange juice was not pure orange juice and simply tasted like watered down orange juice from a cheap carton. This place also comes with a very high 12.5% service charge - we asked for this to be removed from the final bill and it was. Overall, I do not wish to come back to this restaurant and I hope they learn and improve.

Came to Tru Street after being unable to get in Archies... Said its Halal and the place looked really busy and packed... so it can't be too bad? Queue was ok... not too long to wait. We got a decent sized table. Waiter bought cutlery over then I realised they'd given 3 knives and 1 fork.... Waiter rectified it. The prices were not cheap! But its in Trafford Centre... its a day out...why not have a treat. The choice of food is ok... however be aware this is like niche spicy street food cuisine. Bearing in mind the place was packed the long delay was expected before we got the food... but I think they could keep customers happy with some complimentary prawn crackers or poppadoms.. We paid in effect 19 for 3 small bowls of pillau rice and 6 for 5 Halloumi Fries. I enjoyed the halloumi fries but I only had 3 as we was sharing... wasn't impressed but they tasted great... The beef rice flavours were too overpowering for me... the meat was decent but not sure maybe too much ginger or something... I ordered chicken rice and chicken with prawn rice... but they made a mistake and gave two bowls of chicken rice... we noticed and told the waiter who was very prompt to offer a solution... so we got a replacement of chicken prawn rice. The chicken itself wasn't good enough esp for the price... instead of juicy chunks or pieces there were small clumps or shreds of chicken...more rice then meat. You have to eat from these wooden boxes, which reminded me of the boxes I made in art and craft at school, it wasnt easy. They were lined with parchment paper which made it even more awkward to eat from... especially the rice. Also having to eat rice with a fork is a no no. Give me a normal plate or giant flat leaf.... Maybe its a novelty thing but I'm here for the food... There was a service charge but I wasn't that impressed with the service tbh, it was hard to get the attention of any of the waiters... and don't understand why there's a service charge with the already high prices. It should be optional like a tip. There was one waiter which gave us good service so credit to him, as he was quick to resolve issues.
