I asked Taxi Vans to move some boxes and a very heavy upright piano to Manchester from Darlington. They assured me that they were capable of this and a fee and a date was agreed. On collection of the goods two young lads turned up with a van and an MDF board with furniture castors screwed on. The board lasted two minutes and was dumped in my garden. It took forty minutes for them to get the piano into the van. On arrival in Manchester the boxes were taken care of OK but the piano was judged to be too heavy and so they dumped it in the garden and said that I had to get someone else to shift it as they had to pick up some gym equipment and get back to Darlington. I tried writing to them to formally request a partial refund of the amount that I paid but Royal Mail have just returned my letter saying that the addressee has gone away. I contacted a professional company and they came as soon as possible to finish the job and had the piano in the house within five minutes (Thanks Gibsons). Even though I regularly need people to shift stuff for me I will never use these guys again. I'm sure that they'll be OK for pick up and dropping off boxes but anything that takes thought or professional equipment . . . not so much.
