Elaine is a hardworking and dedicated teacher. Her expertise ensured that I was prepared to the highest standard for each ABRSM exam allowing me to achieve a merit in my Grade 8. Her methods of teaching were always encouraging and even when addressing my weaker areas, such as the aural tests in the graded ABRSM exams, or certain sequences in the piece I was finding difficult, she was patient and understanding. Elaine was always prepared to provide extra lessons and extra support. I thoroughly enjoyed all of my lessons with Elaine, she provided such a friendly and approachable environment. I would highly recommend her as a music teacher to all ages.

Elaine taught both my children successfully from the ages of six and seven and they stayed with her until taking their A levels. She inspired in them an enjoyment of music which will last always.I also have had lessons with Elaine and enjoyed them immensely.

Not a suitable teacher for Children. Little patience and does not install any confidence. Son progressed ok with the practical but struggled with the theory. We requested additional support with this but none was provided. After a year of lessons they were abruptly ended due to the teachers own admission she was too old to teach children and an unsavoury incident where my six year old son was shouted at and humiliated. I believe all ages are still advertised on the website. Make your own assumptions of course but from one parent to another I would strongly advise to stay well clear!

Elaine is a brilliant teacher. I had lessons from her age 11-19. She nutured me from being a total beginner to post grade 8. She was always a source of great encouragement. She is very knowledgeable on music theory too and i was able to get a distiction at grade 5 theory thanks to her teaching. She was always very patient with me, and i really looked forward to going to my lessons. I will always be grateful to her for instilling in me the life long gift of playing the piano.

My daughter has had flute lessons with Elaine for a number of months now and is really enjoying her studies. I trained as a music teacher myself and Elaine offers all of the skills and qualities I would look for in a specialist music teacher. She is calm, encouraging and has a genuine desire to help children succeed and reach their potential in music. She also encourages a genuine love of music and an understanding of the importance of both practical and theoretical aspects of music. My daughter has previously had lessons through council provision and through another private teacher, and Elaine has undoubtedly had far more of a positive impact on my daughter both in terms of developing ability, as well as fostering a life long love of music.
