What a way to start a Saturday morning, having breakfast, watching Fraiser and one of the Macmillan adverts comes on. I know it is par for the course when receiving treatment but why would we want or need to see someone, not only suffering from cancer but to see them vomiting - this is unacceptable, I will see this sight in my head for a long time, unfortunately it is becoming common place with films, tv shows and now advertisements which can't be controlled from - children, people who are suffering from an illness and don't wish to be reminded, people having meals, etc. etc. It does mean I will no longer be giving any support to this charity whatsoever. My husband lost his wife to cancer and the nurses were a help during her last few weeks but once she had passed they vanished, leaving him to fend to himself at a time HE needed some help as a single parent and working full time. When I found this out I was having my doubts about this charity but now, seeing their choice of advertisement..... I have had loved ones and friends both suffer from cancer and ones who have passed and I know they feel this kind of advertisement is just going too far. Too far indeed, I do not want to be reminded of my illness.
