I was admitted in this hospital for 3 nights. In my candid opinion, all the staff that attended to me including Nurses, Doctors and Healthcare cares support workers are all amazing. They responded to my request in good time with positive actions. Well done for good work of dedication.

Arrived at X-ray department today, friendly reception and within 10 minutes a consultant (Ray)came out and ushered me in. Introduce me to his colleague and explained the procedure. Very friendly, compassionate and made me feel comfortable. Thank you again and well deserving those 5*

A&E.... maybe a suggestion.. people that are sick or in alot of pain do not love to sit on cold uncomfortable metal seats in A&E sometimes upwards of 9+ hours.. its not a very nice thing to experience & has actually stopped me from attending A&E probably when I should have, just bacause I dread what I've got to sit in the next how ever long. The severity of your situation or injury has nothing to do with how quickly your seen either.

Darent Valley Hospital is a disgusting and disgraceful place to go if you are old. Over 2 weeks ago my 82 year old mother had a fall from her disability scooter and broke her hip. She was taken by ambulance to Darent Valley Hospital and had her hip pinned a day or so later. Since then she has been ignored and left to defecate in an adult nappy (never had this before). One member of staff Leon just flicking his long hair as he talk to youtotally unprofessional. The food has such a high sugar content and for diabetic patients is not good, the hospital is so hot and the food smells through out the hospital. All of this and if you ask the staff to help.for instance to prop up with a pillow, they look at you and either walk away or are reluctant to help. Lots of the time the staff are standing around chatting and laughing or leaning against the wall. This profession really is in decline, they are looking for a way to just sit and not work. There is nobody in charge so, who is checking? Its not underfunding its too much funding and over staffing. They would not last 5 minutes in the private sector as their morals are not high enough!! I want management to respond to this review and Im forwarding details to my MP.
